Work, Art-Projects And Experiments By Michael Schieben rockitbaby.de
2011. re:publica is Germany’s biggest conference when it comes to blogs, social media, and our society in the digital age. The Twitter visualization was based on the generative design for the conference. It was shown as a 12x4m projection on the main stage at FriedrichstadtPalast. The map shows trending topics in the cosmos of the conference hashtag #rp11. Visitors at the conference got one out of three colors on their badge and where invited to tweet this color. The map was built out of pixelized rhombuses in these colors. Each rhombus represents a twitterer, colored rhombuses represent twitterers who also are vistors at re:publica.
